Deze 24 uurs race moest andermaal vroegtijdig opgegeven worden wegens technische problemen. Hopelijk komt er nog een test zonder zulke problemen in Magny Cours of Valencia (wordt vervolgd).

This endurance 24hours race had to be abandoned again because of technical problems. Hopefully there will be a problemfree next test in Magny Cours or Valencia (to be continued).

Als toemaatje bij de Grand Prix in Assen (NL) werd ook een wedstrijd voor het Europese kampioenschap Supersport ingelast. Het was een dag met veel regenvlagen en de bandenkeuze werd weer gokken.
De trainingen waren moeilijk. Wegens zo goed als geen ervaring op Assen (nogal eigenaardig circuit met hellende bochten), was het moeilijk om een juiste afstelling van de motor te bekomen. Doordat dit samen met de grand prix doorging kwam daarbovenop nog dat de trainingen beperkt werden tot een half uurtje per dag. De trainingsplaatsen waren dan ook niet denderend. Eerste dag 25e, tweede dag 28e, derde dag 31e. De eerste 36 mochten starten. Andere belgen van de partij waren Van Achter (startte op een 21e plaats) en De Meulemeester (startte op een 17e plaats).
Na een goede start met droge banden in een gedeeltelijk nat circuit kon Louis geleidelijk terugkomen van de 31e startplaats naar een 20e plaats en kon alzo toch nog als eerste Belg eindigen voor Van Achter en De Meulemeester.

As an extra to the Grand Prix of Assen (NL) there was also a European Supersport championships race that day. The weather in Assen was again rainy and the choice of tires was once again very important.
The trainings were very difficult. Because Louis had very little experience in Assen (it a rather strange circuit with sloped curves), it was very difficult to obtain the best settings for the bike. On top of that the amount of time for the training was limited to half an hour per day since the Grand Prix trainings took most of the time. His training results were rather disappointing. First day 25th, second day 28th, third day 31st. The first 36 pilots could start. Other belgian drivers were Van Achter on a 21 starting place and De Meulemeester on a 17th starting place.
After a rather good start with dry tires on a partially wet circuit, Louis could overtake one after another to gain the 20th place and finish as first Belgian before Van Achter (21st) and De Meulemeester.
