You can do this in CADECA's (casas de cambio) or in the bank.You need them to pay food they sell in the street (cajitas, pizza, refresco, icecream, turron de coco, etc), to take city buses, trucks or camioneta's, to get a coffee in governement-run establishments, etc. DollarForeigners pay most of the time in dollars.You need them to pay for hotels, casas particulares, taxis, intermunicipal buses, domestic flights, paladares, etc. In every city you can get cash advance on your Visa-card in the bank (if it is not issued in the US). You only pay commission to your own bank. In major cities, you'll find ATM's too. Peso ConvertibleThis is a currency equivalent to the US dollar, but only valid in Cuba. |
