Just as for our Golden Retriever, we select the future parents for their natural qualities. The conformity to the standard is subsidiary. Those natural qualities are:
-the contact : the Springer Spaniel is a dog that fixes you, looking at you and observing you. This link makes him easy to educate. - the stamina : he must have the capacity to resist to tiredness and to cold. - the 'bushing': the dog has to enter in a shrub without fear. - the bringing-back: he must have the capacity to bring back the shooted game ashore as well as offshore. |
