My Breeding Goal

The Gundog Morphology

1° The natural contact with the handler, or, like English people say, the "Will to Please". Without the eye contact and the dog's full attention, nothing is possible...

 2° The retrieving instinct : as a puppy already, a well-bred Golden Retriever has one and only one desire : he wants to bring you the various objects within his/her reach (keys, shoes, newspaper, ...). These gifts are as many proofs of his intrest for you. His "will to please" is the reason why he will, during his whole life, face the most difficult working conditions to proudly offer you this exlusive pheasant.

3° The love of water : the Golden Retriever was bred to retieve game, especially water game. Fear of water is thus a real disadvantage.

 4° A perfect mental equilibrium that will allow him to work in a world of contradictions, since in my opinion, the work of a Golden Retiever is one of the hardest :

     - He must obey his handler so that he can be directed towards a precise location when he has not seen thegame fall, and then work on his own initiative, using his nose and the wind to retrieve it.

    - He must be able to work in sight using his "marking", and out of sight.

    - He must be able to sit for a long time near his handler and work as soon as he gets the retrieving command.

    To obtain this results, I breed my Golden Retrievers with love and care, using working stallions of British origin and Belgian bitches that proved their qualities during shootings.

My dogs follow the standard of the race, though I personally prefer bright and intelligent eyes to a correct back line ...
