Situated
in the wild and luminous valley of the “Haute-Sûre”, nearby the
Anlier Forest, the “Martin pêcheur” offers you a calm and
comfortable stay, beautiful Sylvester promenades and a typical
regional kitchen with specialties like trout prepared with
delightful recipes and season’s dishes.
Established in the proximity of well known destinations like
Bastogne, Arlon and Luxembourg, the “Martin pêcheur” is a family
story that started in 1919 near the river Sûre at the beginning of
the tramway track Bastogne-Arlon, which contributed to settle his
renown.
Although the tramway has disappeared, the Hotel restaurant has
been keeping evolve throughout times and local history. After
being a headquarter for American soldiers and Generals, like
Patton, Bradley and Taylor before they went to the front of
Bastogne in 1944, the revival of commerce in post-war days
contributed to important changes to the Hotel and in 1953-1958,
the construction of the avant-garde restaurant made of a glass and
steel structure, which completely restored today, gives your stay
an atypical note.
