Until recently I've been a lecturer in philosophy at Maastricht University, in the Netherlands, teaching ethics and political philosophy at University College Maastricht, and introductory courses in philosophy at the Faculty of Arts and Culture.

My research interests are in moral and political philosophy and ethics of technology. My PhD research was about freedom and autonomy (see my books). I'm interested in the role of imagination in moral reasoning, the relation between art and morality (e.g. see my review of Sloterdijk's Maastricht lecture), and the ethical aspects of technology.
