Grand Master Serge P. Baubil began his study of
martial arts in 1959 and is today a 55 years old Canadian citizen with
45 years of martial arts experience. Master Serge Baubil's international
experience began in Africa where he instructed military and police forces
in many Africa countries as well as official advisor and trainer for the
Martial Arts Federation in these countries.
From Africa, Master Serge Baubil went to Sao Paulo, Brazil,
where he was named International Technical Advisor to the "World
Union of Qwankido" for south America. While there, he introduced
Qwankido (Quan Khi Dao) Vietnamese Kempo Kung Fu to south America as well
as helped to establish the Korean martial Arts of Taekwondo and Hapkido
in Brazil.
Before long, many South American martial arts publications
and magazines were featuring Master Serge Baubil's activities as well
as those of the many outstanding pupils who had benefited from his teachings.
By 1986, Master Serge Baubil was supervising 27 martial
arts schools in Brazil. It was at this point that he decided to make another
international move, in North America, more precisely, Montreal, Canada. |

Headmaster Serge Baubil has had the good fortune of studying
with many world-renowned martial arts experts and Grand Masters in various disciplines.
In Karate and Judo, Master Serge Baubil studied with Japanese Masters:
- Taiji KASE;
- Eiji KAWANISHI;
- Shima BUKURO.
In Korean styles with:
- Kwan Young Lee (who introduced Taekwondo and Hapkido
in France).
- Seo Hong Bang (ex-champion of Taekwondo/Korea).
- Kwansoo Chung (Taekwondo and Hoshinsul).
- Jun Il Hung (Taekwondo and Hoshinsul).
- Chun Won Park (Taekwondo).
- Yong Man Kim (Moo Moo Kwan Hapkido, Taekwondo, Tang
Soo Do).
- Pham Xuan Tong (Founder of Qwankido-Vietnamese Kung
fu Kempo).
- Sang Min Cho (who introduced Taekwondo and Hoshinsul
in Brazil).
- Yun Sik Kim (founder of the Bum Moo Kwan Hapkido).
- In Sun Seo (10th DAN and president of the Korea Kido-Hapkido
Federation).
Hapkido has always played a major role in Master Serge
Baubil's life, which is noted as follow:
- In 1969, Master Serge Baubil received his first Black
Belt.
- In 1978, Master Baubil received his 3rd DAN from
HAPKIDO Grand Master Yong Man Kim (Moo Moo Kwan).
- In 1985, Master Serge Baubil received his 5th DAN
TAEKWONDO from Grand Master Yong Son Seo and Sang Min Cho.
- In 1988, Master Serge Baubil received his 5th DAN
in QWANKIDO (Vietnamese Kung fu) by Grand Master/Founder Pham Xuan
Tong.
- In 1990, Master Serge Baubil is promoted to 6th
DAN in HAPKIDO by Grand Master Yun Sik Kim (Bum Moo Kwan Hapkido).
The grade was confirmed by the Korean/Kido Federation and its president,
In Sun Seo.
- In 1992, Master Serge Baubil is founder and president
of the QUEBEC HOSHINKIDO HAPKIDO FEDERATION in Montreal , Canada.
- In 1996, Master Serge Baubil is promoted to the 7th
DAN Black Belt in HAPKIDO by Grand Master In Sun Seo, president
of the Korea Kido/World Kido Federation.
- In 1998, in Pusan, Korea, Master Serge Baubil is promoted
world judge in HAPKIDO by the Korea Kido Association;
- Inducted in July 1998 in the Hall of Fame (Connecticut,
USA), Most Distinguished Grandmaster of the year.
- Inducted in July 1998 in the Hall of Fame Sokeship
Council, Golden Life Achievement Award.
- In January 1st, 1999, official recognition of Hoshinkido
System by the Korea Kido Hapkido Association and Headmaster Baubil as
founder.
- Inducted in May 1999 in the Pionners, legends martial
arts Hall of Fame (Connecticut, USA ) as Grand Master/Founder of the
year.
- Inducted in July, 11 1999 in New York (USA) as Grand
Master of the year by the United Martial Artist Association.
- Inducted in december 1999 as Member of the testing
board of directors of the Korean Martial Arts Instructors Association
(USA).
- Certified 8th DAN Black Belt in HAPKIDO by the
International Budo Association (France), the World Martial Arts Alliance
and by Grandmaster IN SUN SEO, president of the Korea Kido/ World Kido
Association .
- Inducted in January 8, 2000 in Atlanta, Georgia (USA)
as Grand master Instructor of the year by the American Federation of
Martial Arts Hall of Fame.
- At the Second World Hapkido Championship of
the Korea Kido Association, on April 9th, 2000 at Yong-IN's
University of Seoul, Grandmaster Baubil proudly receives his
Master's Exibition Gold Medal and the Grandmaster Diploma
as an official Representative of the Korea Kido Association.
- In 2001, Grandmaster Serge Baubil is named the "Most
Distinguished Grandmaster of the Year 2001" at the Fifth Martial
Arts Masters Pioneers and Legends Hall of Fame, Norwalk Connecticut.
- In 2001, Grandmaster Serge Baubil is inducted as International
Grandmaster of year 2001 at the World Head of Family Sokeship Council
Hall of Fame, Orlando.
- In 2001, Grandmaster Serge Baubil is inducted as Grandmaster
of year 2001 at the World Wide Martial Arts Hall of Fame in Syracuse,
New-York, June 9th 2001.
- December 27th, 2001, inducted and certified by the
World Martial Arts Masters Society (Hall Of Fames) as 9th dan black
belt Hoshinkido Grandmaster and founder of year.
- August 31, 2002, inducted in the World Head Of Family
Sokeship Council of Orlando, Florida, USA (the world greatest martial
arts Grandmasters council) as member of the council and as the SOKE
of the Hoshinkido Hapkido (Highest ranking official within his martial
art).
- February 15th, 2003, in Seoul, Korea, Grandmaster Baubil
was nominated by supreme Grandmaster In Sun Seo, 10th dan, as the official
representative in Canada, with his friend Grandmaster Rudy Timmerman,
for the new Hanminjok Hapkido Association (All Korean Hapkido).
- August 31, 2003 Award for the continued excellence
in the Martial Arts to Grand Master Serge Baubil by the W.H.F.S.C. Hall
of Fame, Orlando, FL, USA.
- April 2004 - Grand Master Serge Baubil won the Gold
Medal in Korea at the world Kido Federation / Hanminjok Hapkido Association,
World Championships in the Master's Exhibition.
- May 2004 - Grand Master Serge Baubil is promoted to
the 9th Degree Black Belt by the I.B.A. (International Budo Association).
- September 2004 - Grand Master Serge Baubil received
the Prestigious Award of "Patriarch Award" at the World Head
of Family Sokeship Council Hall of Fame in Orlando, Florida.
- December 4th, 2004 - Grand Master Baubil is promoted
to the rank of 9th DAN, by Supreme Grandmaster IN SUN SEO, 10th DAN,
President of the World Kido Federation / Hanminjok Hapkido Association.
The International Hoshinkido Hapkido Federation has been
approved by the Korean Kido/World Kido federation as an official organization
and style, as an official training center for the teaching and practice of Korean
martial arts.
Grand Master Serge P. Baubil is the Headmaster of the
International Hoshinkido Hapkido Federation. He is a certified
and qualified Headmaster instructor abiding by the rules and regulations
of the Korea Kido/World Kido Federation/Hanminjok Hapkido Association.
