it’s not easy to make a decision. |

Panos
(Skopelos)
|
A garden restaurant a little away from
the waterfront in the same street as Est. Alexandros. |
|
Flisvos (Loutraki) |
A
very nice place with Greek music playing, next to the sea. Very attentive service and excellent food at reasonable prices. Our second visit confirmed our first impression. |
| Klimataria (Skopelos) | A
bit further than the town hall. They serve a wide range of specialities and is not expensive at all, but it’s a rather noisy place. http://www.skopelosweb.gr/klimataria/index.html |
| Pefkos (Stafilos) | A charming place with a marvellous view, though nor the quality, nor the service could convince us to go back. |
| Mourayo (Skopelos) | Handy
when waiting for the boat. http://www.skopelosweb.gr/mourayo/index.html |
|
Skopelos town |
The old quarter is definitely the most attractive part of the town with a maze of steep narrow streets, whitewashed houses, staircases and beautiful tiled churches and chapels. The waterfront is a string of restaurants and cafeterias. |
|
Glossa |
The trip to Glossa is very green with a lot of shade and marvellous views. It’s a small hill settlement above Loutraki – the second port – at the north/westside of Skopelos. It’s a pleasure to wander along staircases and narrow streets with the typical rooftiled houses and overhanging wooden balconies. There are restaurants and shops. |
|
Elios |
A new fishing village and shelter for yachts with a couple of taverns and accommodation. |
|
Klima |
New settlers are bringing this village back to life after the 1965 earthquake. A lot of houses - with the typical balconies, are still abondonned. |
|
Loutraki |
The port which lies about 4 kilometers beneath Glossa has a fair amount of taverns where you can enjoy a relaxing meal. |
|
Monasteries |
East of Skopelos town are a couple
of interesting and nicely situated monasteries. There is a splendid sight
of Skopelos town when leaving it. We visited Moni Sotiris (Metamorphosis),
Moni Prodromou, Moni Evanghelistria. |
| Beaches |
Agnontas: A picturesque fishing hamlet with some taverns. |
|
Ag. Konstantinos: In the northern part, very close to Skopelos town. We got lost when trying to reach some more northern places; we crossed the island along scenic pine forests and suddenly arrived in Elios (Nea Klima) at the south. The road was not asphalted and sometimes in rather poor condition. |
|
| Stafilos: A sand beach with marvellous views. A lot of people found their way to it. There is an inviting overhanging restaurant ‘Pefkos’. | |
| Panormos: A bay with a wide view, a pebbled beach, many coves and a couple of waterside restaurants. | |
|
Limnonari: An enclosed bay with a sand beach and two taverns. |
|
| Akr. Arminopetra: A small-sized but attractive place, also known as Kalives beach. | |
| Faros: Unspoilt with natural beauty – the road is in a very poor condition. | |
| Ag. Ioannis: Not really a beach - Ag. Ioannis is a rock surrounded by the sea with a chapel on top of it. The scenery route is asphalted and offers many breathtaking views. Spectacular trip! |
