General

We arrived at Alonnissos (coming from Konstantinos) with the 'hydrofoil' in about 2.30 hours.
A rather small island with a lot of natural beauties.
The little harbour, called Patitiri, is very attractive.

Nina rooms

We stayed at Nina rooms – when leaving the hydrofoil take the Ikon Dolopon street (on the right) leading inland, after about 50 m there are some steps to the right.
The room included airconditioning, fridge, a large bathroom and a nice balcony overlooking a part of the port. It was very well kept and had many of the things usually missing from rented rooms. They charged us 20 Eur.

Restaurants

To Kamaki (Patitiri)

Excellent! We went twice to this Ouzeri (Odos Ikon Dolopon).
They serve a wide range of local specialities. Very tasty and not expensive at all. The owner as well as his personnel were very attentive and friendly. It’s almost always full, which is a good sign.

To Karavi (Patitiri)

In the same street as To Kamaki. Another good address.
We had mussels saganaki, cheese pie, homeprepared ansjovis and nice wine from the barrel.

Tzizifia (Patitiri)

The first restaurant on your right when leaving the hydrofoil.
They serve a wide variety of greek food. The ones we had were very tasteful and the service is friendly and correct.

Margarita (Kalamakia)

Bad luck!
We ordered calamares, grilled octopus, taramosalad. There was something wrong with the octopus.
Though they apologized and didn’t charge us for it, we have to say that the quality of the other dishes as well as the barrel wine was mediocre.

Places

Patitiri (port)

The tiny port is nestled between high sandstone cliffs. It is a very charming place with a good amount of eateries.

Chora

Largely abandoned since a violent earthquake in 1965. Now a lot of houses have and are being renovated by foreign settlers. It can even be reached along a foothpath from the harbour.
It is a picturesque tiny place with lovely views, narrow streets, a couple of rooms and restaurants.

Votsi & Roussoum Yialos

Two successive bays with accommodation and eating possibilities.
Both are lovely places worth a visit.

Beaches

Steni Vala

The route towards this fishing port situated north of Patitiri is very beautiful There are a couple of inviting restaurants as well as accommodation.

Gerakas

The road which leads towards the lonely port of Gerakas is very green (with a lot of pines) but not so spectacular. The only sign of life being some yachts in the harbour.

Chrisi Milia

The place some five kilometers north of Patitiri has a large sandy beach with a restaurant.
It must be a nice place when the weather is fine. We had a thunderstorm for at least 2-3 hours. There was no difference between sea and sky.
We also tried to visit some other places but the non-asphalted roads were in such a poor condition after the heavy rainfalls of the last month that we decided to extend ouzo-time in Patitiri.

Kalamakia

A very quiet small fishing port with a couple of restaurants.
It’s an inviting place for lunch.
We continued the road towards Ag. Dimitriou, where the asphalt ends
