The silver and gold stars are based on the following points :  

OBJECTIVE :

In order to give some hold at those jiu jitsuka who don’t have a lot of possibilities

 (money, time, family, work…) by making their choice to participate at a Jiu Jitsu seminar, the I.J.J.I.C. introduces a system of stars based on 10 years of personal participating at seminars all over Europe.

Those stars say of course only something about seminars in  the past, but they give a

 view in the possibility of good quality in the future.

The conditions were set up in cooperation with some high degree Budo and Jiu Jitsu masters.

What is not taken in consideration ?

The techniques the concerned masters were teaching,

              Nobody has the universal knowledge necessary to judge the different schools or styles.

 The number of participants or the possibilities offered by the dojo.

 The name, the dan-degree or the reputation of the participating masters.

a very good one day seminar that meets almost all of the requirements with something special that brings the seminar to a higher level.

a very good more then one day seminar that meets almost all of the requirements with something special that brings the seminar to an higher level. Something more then beer drinking to propagate the friendship between the participants from different countries.

VALUE OF THE STARS

The concerned organizer after receiving this official certificate will be permanent mentioned in his category in the next BUL I.J.J.I.C.

Points of importance by the award of one or more stars.

    :

The seminar must be announced by the organizers to the I.J.J.I.C., by using the special flyer (by post-office or by e-mail).

    :

Indications on the road to inform where participants can find the dojo.

    :

At the seminar the teachers and the prices corresponding with the announcement

     :

The organizer or his representative always present in the dojo to solve all kind of problems such as injuries or disturbing elements around the tatami.

    :

“First Help” present by a competent person or a medical help organization and clear indication.

    :

No earrings, nose rings or piercing on the tatami during the training to prevent injuries

    :

Order and security on and around the tatami

    :

Emergency exits open during the whole duration of the seminar.

    :

Correct and acceptable prices

    :

Club spirit and help from family and friends  from members to the success of the seminar.

    :

Respect for all the participants at the seminar in spite of the function or the graduation. 

    :

Good care for the participants for dressing rooms, showers, dining room, a.s.o. in  function of the possibilities of the sports hall.

    :

Personal certificate at the end of the seminar for every participant, with his name and stamped. (in every club there must be someone with a printer and someone who can write nicely)

    :

Souvenir from his participation for the teachers. Not the value is important, it’s the act.

    :

Not in keikogi in the dining room or the bar

    :

Dojo sleeping possible or cheep sleeping in the neighborhood of the dojo.

    :

Supplementary activities

            0 : show or demonstration

            0 : common diner

            0 : dance party and relaxation

    :

If some teachers don’t speak the language of the region, ask for an interpreter (yes or no with budo practise). Don’t think that everybody speaks and understands English, Dutch, German, French a.s.o.). If the budoka don’t understand the master the course becames only a demonstration.

    :

Organize a photo session before the great pause for a picture of the whole group and give the students the possibility for a picture with the master of their choice.

THE MASTERS

    :

No in-breeding – not always the same teachers of the same federation.

    :

Clothes and appear on the tatami according to the norms, no jewels, no rolled up sleeves...

    :

After demonstration and explanation of a technique control in permanence of the students (no conversation at the side of the tatami with spectators or preparation of the following technique.)

    :

Before the start of the lessons a warming up. Don’t confuse with condition training. Students who are already tired before the beginning give a greater risk of injuries.

No more warming up at the end of the course but cooling down.

    :

Don’t hesitate to send students, who have not the knowledge and the ability to train on a higher level, to another group of lower degree.

A black belt karate is not prepared to train with black belts Jiu Jitsu.

    :

As warming up is necessary, the masters participate at the warming up or take position out of the view from the students. (After the greeting for instance a turn of 180 ° and the warming up teacher at the other side)

    :

When they are not giving course, the masters show interest for the other teachers or retire.

    :

Social behavior and friendship in contact with the students

    :

Willing for a group photo and a photo session with the students at the end of the first part of the seminar.

    :

Giving autograms when desired
