Biography:

Dr ir Fritz Sennheiser was born on the 9th may 1912 in Berlin
where he followed his gymnastical education.
From 1932 till 1936 he studied at the technical highschool in Berlin.
After this till 1938 he was assistent at the Heinrich Herz Institute for vibration-research.
He was transferred at 1938 to the Institute for high-frequent technique and electro-acoustic at the T.H. in Hannover where he got promoted till dr. ir. and in 1960 to professor at the same university.
When at the end of the war,the telecommunication in Germany was forbidden, prof. Sennheiser was very busy on the T.H. with a whole new development at the area of electro acoustic, which he could not continued.
With some of his co-operators he maded this company, and that's why he could restarted his development but now with more commercial sides on this company.

"We would raise a company that stood between a small and a big company".
Specializing in something (microphones in this case) is almost the only chance for succes for a company like this one. (so said Prof. Sennheiser)
On the area of dynamic microphones was only America very active at that time.

Technical view of the company Sennheiser:

Prof.Sennheiser won't hide that his company was based on total American idea.
A production of magnetic , dynamic and condensator microphones was the result , without loosing the eye on the quality and with a reasonable price.(competition with Japan)
Prof. Sennheiser said that the word "QUALITY" was a MUST for the name of the factory.
Every single microphone was tested by a Bruel and Kjaer installation in a "dead room" (see picture) before it would leave the factory.

DEAD ROOM

The measuring instruments were an essential part of the production proces.
There was no exception for a microphone. If they failed the test , they wouldn't leave the factory. Picture below on the left side shows the stretching of the Mylar membrane on the capsule. Picture below on the right side shows how they made Mylar togheter with gold in the vacuum boiler.

It was that microphone that made an "Intercom" (microphone and speaker) , the contact between miners who were enclosed , and their rescue team in LANGHEDE ( NETHERLAND )
After this use in the mines , they did some testing on that specific microphone. The results were very good. No fysical damage. Using the mic for a speaker was good to use it till 0,5 Watt.
If they heavily loaded the mic , mechanical there would be no changing , only the talk-spool was burned !
