Prepare yourself

o       Look at our dive location, check the weather forecast and look at the fish of our dive sites.

o       For courses read about upcoming skills in your PADI manual. You can see us training on our skill photos.

o       Think about your previous experiences and consider to improve anything.

o       Discuss everybody’s expectation, experience, diving specifics, underwater environment.

o       Agree car sharing, meeting place & date, costs, specific equipment needed, exchange cell phone numbers.

o       Time schedule for day trips:

Ekeren 4-5 hours (one long dive)

Tholen 6-7 hours (one long dive)

Scharendijke 10 hours (2 dives with 30 min lunch break).

Equipment check

  Mask, snorkel, fins, boots, gloves, suit, hood, regulator, BCD, filled tank, weight belt, weights, compass, computer, charged torch.

You can hire all but maybe you should buy at least your own mask, snorkel and fins. See the hire charge for equipment.

Look at the water temperatures to decide what suit is appropriate.

More things

Swimming clothes, towel, certification card, logbook, pen, manual, RDP, warm clothes, umbrella, woollen cap (it can be windy in Zeeland), hot drinks, food, water, mat, plastic box or bag for wet clothes, 4 € entrance fee (for Plate Taille only), 4 coins of 50 cents to refill the tank (for Zeeland only), money for restaurant (Scharendijke/Plate Taille), batteries for torch (if you want to use one), petrol costs.

Meeting places for open water excursions: the Metro Station KRAAINEM, exit 2 of the ring (Wezembeek Oppem), the dive location or another appropriate place.

Briefings just before the dive on all important aspects.

Assistance is provided during the dive underwater and at the surface.

2a) Medical statement and questionnaire (to be signed by the diver)
