PADI Scuba Diver course - Limited for time but would like a dive certification? Begin your diving adventures here! No previous experience is required! PADI Scuba Diver Course is a two-day certification designed for people with time limitations who wish to receive a life-long certification and discover the wonders of the underwater world using scuba equipment. The first step is to study the PADI Manual and to watch the PADI DVD at home. Then, during day 1 of this pre-entry level certification, participants are introduced to dive theory and a pool experience where basic skills are trained. On day 2, divers participate in 2 open water dives, diving to a maximum of 12 meters under the supervision of the trainer. A buoy with a reference rope helps to make your descent comfortable. Once the diver completes these sessions (which are the first part of the Open Water Diver Course) they can opt for the Scuba Diver Course certificate. This lifetime qualification entitles to dive under the supervision of a PADI professional, or to continue with the full Open Water Diver Course. The Junior version of this course is for kids aged 10 -14 years. Course cost €290

Open Water Diver course is a 4-5 day entry level certification taught to international standards, allowing to dive all over the world! This lifetime certification provides participants with comprehensive scuba knowledge as well as giving them the experience of diving in open water. Enjoying the environment underwater you will relax and have time to yourself. The impression makes you forgetting things happening above the water surface. An educational experience only for your pleasure! The first step is for you to study the PADI OWD Manual and to watch the PADI DVD at home. Some study fast others need more time. Please find your learning speed and prepare yourself. Good preparation makes things easier afterwards underwater and you’ll become a better diver! After studying at home the participants go together with the instructor through dive theory in five academic modules with four short quizzes and the final exam. In parallel we start swimming pool sessions to practise what you have learned and to build confidence for the real open water dives. There are some simple and some more difficult underwater exercises that we train until you can manage properly. Through several exercises you will learn for example to tune your weightlessness. You also need to become familiar with the underwater conditions, your equipment and the safety precautions before we will finally move to the real open water diving. If you would like to know more about the underwater exercises or if you want to see us training click at our skill photos. There are 2 open water dives to a maximum of 12 meters and 2 more open water dives to a maximum of 18 meters. Ekeren, Plate Taille or Tholen are excellent calm locations to go for these first dives. Click at the photos of these dive locations and you’ll get some impression. A buoy with a reference line helps to make your descent comfortable. You will use your newfound knowledge during these dives, all your work will pay off and you will truly understand why you have taken scuba diving lessons. All dives are under the close supervision of the instructor who will help you with preparation and carrying out all steps of the course. The Open Water Diver Course is a passport into the world of diving and aquatic adventures. Successful completion brings life-long enjoyment of the wonders of the underwater world. After completion of the course, you will become certified as an internationally recognised PADI Open Water Diver and have the freedom to dive with a buddy independent of a professional. The Junior version of this course is for kids aged 10 -14 years (maximum depth of the dives: 12 meters!).

Course cost €485

Optional: During winter time there is the possibility to integrate dry suit training in your OWD course if you wish so and if you are good in buoyancy. The course will then include the PADI Dry Suit Specialty and it makes € 570 for the whole programme.

Dry suit diver Belgium diving gets cold in the winter but a dry suit keeps it fun throughout the year. It will allow you to stay warmer not only during, but also after the dive. This way you can stay in the water longer, comfortably do several dives in a day and even extend your diving season. Never get cold or wet again! The dry suit also creates an air space around your body giving you another means with which to control your buoyancy. This new experience to manage your buoyancy simultaneously with both BCD and dry suit is the key challenge of the course. Properly controlled deflating of the dry suit is on one hand essential for slow and safe ascents. Time and patience are needed because the air leaves the dry suit much slower than the BCD. Regular and proper inflating of your dry suit is on the other hand essential to avoid squeeze effects. Beginners tend to prefer BCD inflation but advanced dry suit divers control their buoyancy only with their dry suit. A special technique will be trained to get rid of too much air that could unpleasantly accumulate in the boots. This course allows you to practise and perfect the techniques involved in dry suit diving with the help and guidance of an experienced trainer. The course is run in the sheltered waters of the Dutch coast from October to April. Many of the best dive sites in the EU are coldwater - so the dry suit course comes highly recommended to broaden your diving horizons. We recommend dry suit diving if the water temperatures go below 12°C and air is not above 23°C. Well, also for longer dives you may need better insulation, but you should not sweat too much on your way to or from the water.

Course duration: 1 day comprising of 2 open water dives

Prerequisites: PADI Open Water diver or equivalent

Course cost €170

Peak Performance Buoyancy Speciality course - Become a better diver! This course will enable you to perfect your buoyancy control, improve your confidence in the water, determine the minimum of weights needed, enjoy weightlessness, reduce your air consumption and help protect the environment! Before the course you prepare yourself at home through watching the PADI PPB DVD. Underwater we do many different exercises where you will train to change your buoyancy with your equipment and with your lungs. Going through these skills your buoyancy control improves and diving becomes second nature as you relax and feel easy or soft flying through the water. These feelings and fewer weights on your belt result in best enjoyment and fun.

Course duration: 1 day comprising of 2 dives

Prerequisites: PADI Open Water diver or equivalent

Course cost €160

Underwater Navigator - For those who have enough with following the guide and who like to know where they’re going under water, this course is the way to go. During this program participants learn the ins and outs of underwater navigation. There are 4 major navigation principles: compass navigation, distance estimation, depth control and natural navigation. The first 3 principles are easy to understand but difficult to perform properly. Natural navigation brings another exploring element in your dive because you will observe the natural specifics a location: different objects, formations and especially at the Dutch coast the variety of aquatic species. Applying the 4 principles will help to navigate but most important is of course to develop the ability of finding safer shallow waters and the shore from any place underwater. Especially beginners often loose their orientation due to the strong impressions and adventures underwater. Often they believe having done a square pattern but it was only a triangle. So, you will train to follow specific patterns underwater, to hold your compass properly, to control orientation, distances, hazards underwater etc. All compass exercises will be trained first on land before we dive underwater. Intensive navigation training will also enable you to sketch underwater maps.

Course duration: 1-2 days comprising of 3 dives

Prerequisites: PADI Open Water diver or equivalent

Course cost €180

Underwater Naturalist - If you enjoy the underwater environment and you're interested in aquatic life then the PADI Underwater Naturalist Specialty course is for you. This course is an introduction to the underwater aquatic environment and will help develop safe and responsible aquatic life interaction techniques. Especially at the Dutch Zeeland coast it’s fascinating to observe and to identify the incredibly high number of different aquatic species present as a consequence of the Gulf Stream. The warming effects of this current are quite strong and can be felt on land and underwater. The current causes upwelling effects which raise nutrients from the seabed carrying them into shallow water. These nutrients cause an increase in plankton production which forms the basis of the marine food chain. As a result one can observe rich and diverse marine flora and fauna especially during Zeeland dives. Sometimes you see already the ground covered with crayfish, prawns, starfish…when you prepare your mask before the dive. You will get an overview of the major groupings and you’ll learn about planning, organisation and potential problems of naturalist dives.
