|
| Chardonnay Hausmannhof |
|
This
dry, non-sparkling Chardonnay testifies of the same concentration
and minerality as the sparkling wines of the house. A very full
and floral nose. The taste is fruity and harmonious. A very professional
job! |
|
| Brut |
|
The
"Brut" is a magnificent sparkling wine (80% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot
Noir) with an intense, very aromatic nose and a perfectly balanced
taste. |
|
| Pas Dosé |
|
The
"Pas Dosé" is what the French call a "millésime",
a sparkling super wine made of grapes of one certain vintage and
to which no "dosage" (sugar or liqueur) is added. This
"Pas Dosé" is an assemblage of 90% Chardonnay and
10% Pinot Noir, ripened in bottles for 5 years and extremely mineral
in aroma and taste. |

| Blauburgunder Riserva
Hausmannhof |
|
With
the same grapes from which the sparkling wines are produced (Chardonnay
and Pinot Nero), Ochsenreiter makes high-quality non-sparkling wines.
Cf. this extremely powerful "Blauburgunder" (which is
the Southtyrolean name for Pinot Noir). Despite two years of ripening
on oak barriques, the wood is nicely integrated. Deeply dark. An
abundant nose of woodberries and impressions of leather and fumé.
The taste is wonderfully concentrated and nicely rounded. It does
not make much sense to compare this wine to any Burgundies of the
same price category. The Blauburgunders stand on their own, have
their own expression and signature. All the wines of the house,
and especially the "Blauburgunders", have the reputation
to retain their fruit and power during a very long time. |
