Ô³ëÿäåëüô³¿ (ÑØÀ), êóäè
ïåðå¿õàâ ç áàòüêàìè, â³í
çàê³í÷èâ ñåðåäíþ îñâ³òó é âèùó
øêîëó. Ñòóä³þâàâ àíãë³éñüêó
ë³òåðàòóðó â Ïåíñèëüâåíñüêîìó
óí³âåðñèòåò³. ϳä ê³íåöü
ø³ñòäåñÿòèõ ðîê³â ïåðå¿õàâ äî
Òîðîíòà, â Êàíàä³, äå æèâå é
ïðàöþº ÿê ïåðåêëàäà÷ ³
ïóáë³öèñò.
Ìàðêî Öàðèííèê — ºäèíèé ñåðåä
÷ëåí³â Íüþ-Éîðêñüêî¿ Ãðóïè,
ÿêèé äî íèí³øíüîãî äíÿ íå âèäàâ
æîäíî¿ ïîåòè÷íî¿ êíèæêè (õî÷à â
éîãî àðõ³âàõ äîñ³ çáåð³ãàþòüñÿ
÷åðíåòêè çá³ðêè “Ïàä³ííÿ
ñâ³òëà”). Âèñëîâëþâàâ ñâîþ
ïîåòè÷íó ñàìîáóòí³ñòü
âèêëþ÷íî â ë³òåðàòóðí³é
ïåð³îäè÷í³é ïðåñ³ é ïî
çá³ðíèêàõ íà Çàõîä³. Çàòå, êð³ì
ë³òåðàòóðîçíàâ÷èõ ³
ô³ëüìîçíàâ÷èõ ñòàòòåé, â³í
ïåðåêëàâ ÷èìàëî óêðà¿íñüêèõ
ìèñòåöüêèõ òâîð³â íà
àíãë³éñüêó ìîâó é äåê³ëüêà ç
íèõ âèäàâ îêðåìèìè êíèãàìè. ³í
— ÷ëåí Íàö³îíàëüíî¿ Ñï³ëêè
Ïèñüìåííèê³â Óêðà¿íè.
Ìàðêî Öàðèííèê äåáþòóâàâ íà
ñòîð³íêàõ “Ñó÷àñíîñòè”
(Ìþíõåí) â 1963-îìó ðîö³. Çãîäîì
ãóñòî äðóêóâàâñÿ, ÿê ñêàçàíî
âèùå, â óêðà¿íñüê³é ïåð³îäèö³
Çàõîäó — äî 1985-îãî ðîêó. ³äòàê
ïîåòè÷íî çàìîâê. Ïî íèí³øí³é
äåíü.
