Thank you for your interesting e mail. The answer is that none of your historical personalities appear on the Irish Junior Cycle History Curriculum or Senior Cycle History Curriculum I would expect the artists are referred to in the Art courses but am not an art teacher Good luck with your research

Breugel and Reubens would be studies briefly in our Advanced level Art classes. We were unaware that Baekeland invented the thermosetting polymer, Bakelite, which we study in Chemistry but we will certainly give him a mention now.

Well we know that Eddy Merckx is a cyclist and that Rubens was a master artist.

Hi,
In response to your recent e-mail the following famous Flemish Celebrities appear in our text books: Andreas Vesalius, Hans Memlinc, Pieter Paul Rubens, and Jan Van Eyck.
We would also be aware of others through our European Studies Module such as Jean-Luc Dehaene, Religious Education - Pater Damian and general Sports Interest - Eddy Merckx.
I hope this is of some help to you.
Best wishes,
Terenure College, Dublin, Ireland.

Dear Lieven, We study Andreas Vesalius as part of our GCSE course. We do a Study in Development on the History of Medicine and we look at the work of Vesalius who is regarded as the father of modern anatomy.
